Earle Street Flats | Earle Street, Yeovil

Commercial

Earle Street flats has been designed to accommodate 40 affordable apartments with a mix of one and two bedroom units. The building is located in the centre of Yeovil and its prominent location for passing traffic through the town. The project involves the demolition of vacant retail units on the corner of Wyndham Street and its replacement is proposed to be a contemporary eye catching five-storey block of flats.

Its design has been inspired by the account of the explosion in the fruit ripening warehouse and has subsequently developed a contemporary take on a industrial style; this is characterised by the regimented brick facade. The use of red and buff bricks tie the building to the vernacular of Earle Street and the former Western Gazette building nearby.
